The Rolex Yacht-Master 42 in RLX titanium, introduced at Watches and Wonders 2023, marked a significant moment in Rolex’s modern catalogue. As the first serial production Rolex crafted from titanium, it represented a notable departure for a manufacture long associated with Oystersteel, gold and platinum. The result is a remarkably lightweight nautical sports watch, engineered for strength, comfort and everyday resilience.

The 42mm case is machined from grade 5 RLX titanium, offering a substantial weight reduction compared with stainless steel while maintaining excellent corrosion resistance. Its satin finished surfaces give the watch a more technical and understated character, while the bidirectional rotating bezel is fitted with a matt black Cerachrom insert. Raised polished numerals provide strong contrast against the ceramic surface, which is highly resistant to scratches and unaffected by ultraviolet light. A sapphire crystal with Cyclops lens protects the dial, while the Oyster case construction provides 100 metres of water resistance.

The black dial is clean, functional and highly legible, carrying applied Chromalight hour markers and matching hands for excellent visibility in low light. The long lasting blue glow reinforces the watch’s practical sporting purpose, while the date aperture at three o’clock sits beneath Rolex’s signature Cyclops lens for added clarity.

Powering the watch is Rolex’s Calibre 3235, a self winding mechanical movement developed and manufactured entirely in house. It features Rolex’s Chronergy escapement, a blue Parachrom hairspring and Superlative Chronometer certification, delivering exceptional precision, shock resistance and reliability. With approximately 70 hours of power reserve, the movement reflects Rolex’s latest generation standard for daily performance.

The Oysterflex bracelet combines the flexibility of an elastomer strap with the structural integrity of a metal blade core. Designed for comfort, durability and security, it suits the lightweight nature of the RLX titanium case perfectly. The bracelet is secured by an Oysterlock safety clasp in RLX titanium, maintaining the watch’s cohesive and highly technical construction.

Good condition reflects visible signs of regular wear, with surface marks expected on polished areas, light dulling to brushed components and possible desk diving marks to the clasp and bracelet. There is no significant damage to the watch’s functionality or integrity. Supplied complete with its original box and original papers. The five year manufacturer’s warranty remains active.
