The GMT-Master launched 1954 for Pan Am pilots requiring dual time zone display. The GMT-Master II introduced 1982 added independently adjustable local hour hand. This two-tone configuration pairs steel with Everose gold—Rolex's proprietary rose gold alloy containing platinum preventing colour fading.
