The Cosmograph Daytona in 950 platinum represents the pinnacle of Rolex's motorsport-inspired chronograph lineage. Since the model's introduction in 1963, the Daytona has been synonymous with precision timing and mechanical excellence. The 116506, distinguished by its exclusive ice blue dial — a colour reserved solely for Rolex's platinum models — elevates this icon to its most prestigious expression.

The 40mm case is machined from solid 950 platinum, one of the densest and most noble metals used in watchmaking. The monobloc Cerachrom bezel in chestnut brown ceramic carries a moulded tachymeter scale with platinum-coated numerals, virtually impervious to scratching and ultraviolet degradation. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, and the case is rated to 100 metres water resistance.

The ice blue dial — an instantly recognisable signifier of Rolex platinum — carries factory-set diamond dot hour markers, each secured by Rolex's in-house gem-setting department. Three recessed chronograph counters provide elapsed time measurement: running seconds at six, 30-minute totaliser at three, and 12-hour totaliser at nine.

Inside, the calibre 4130 automatic chronograph movement features a column-wheel mechanism and vertical clutch coupling for precise chronograph engagement. It delivers 72 hours of power reserve and carries Superlative Chronometer certification, tested to -2/+2 seconds per day.

The three-piece 950 platinum Oyster bracelet is secured by an Oysterlock safety clasp with Easylink 5mm comfort extension. The substantial weight of the platinum bracelet provides a uniquely luxurious wearing experience.

Excellent condition from 2015 means minimal wear — expect light surface marks on polished surfaces, maintained in nearly new condition. All factory-set diamonds present and secure. Comes complete with original box and original papers.
