The Cosmograph Daytona launched 1963 for professional racing drivers. The reference 116506 introduced 2013 as first platinum Daytona in collection, distinguished by ice blue dial—Rolex reserves this colour exclusively for platinum models.

Forty millimetres in 950 platinum. Monobloc Oyster case construction weighing approximately 280 grams—substantially heavier than steel equivalents. Screw-down pushers and Triplock crown. Chestnut brown Cerachrom ceramic bezel with engraved tachymetre scale measuring average speeds to 400 units per hour. Sapphire crystal. One hundred metres water resistance.

Ice blue dial with applied hour markers and luminous coating. Three black subdials—running seconds at nine o'clock, thirty-minute counter at three o'clock, twelve-hour counter at six o'clock. Inside sits Calibre 4130—Rolex's manufacture chronograph movement introduced 2000. Forty-four jewels, 28,800 vph, seventy-two-hour power reserve. Column wheel and vertical clutch.
