About the brand

CIGA Design is a trailblazing Chinese watchmaker founded in 2016 by industrial designer Zhang Jianming. Guided by a Bauhaus-inspired philosophy—“form follows function”—and a mission to make mechanical artistry accessible, CIGA blends minimalist aesthetics with expressive engineering to craft timepieces that double as wearable art.

Its skeletonized watches—like the Series C, Z, and Magician—expose layered mechanisms through innovative case shapes, while models such as the U‑Series “Blue Planet” feature domed, planet-sculpted dials that earned CIGA the prestigious Challenge Prize at the 2021 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, the first Chinese brand to do so.
