Rolex Submariner Date "Bluesy" - 16613LB

The Submariner 16613LB is one of the most recognisable two-tone sports models Rolex has produced. Often nicknamed the “Bluesy”, it combines Oystersteel with 18ct yellow gold, giving the watch a distinctive balance between tool-watch durability and classic luxury.

The blue sunburst dial shifts tone depending on the light, moving from deep navy to vibrant royal blue. Applied hour markers and Mercedes hands are filled with luminous material for strong legibility, whilst the date window at three o’clock is magnified by the Cyclops lens. The matching blue aluminium bezel insert provides clear elapsed-time tracking and reinforces the bold colour profile.

Inside is the Rolex calibre 3135, one of the brand’s most proven automatic movements. It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, offers a 48-hour power reserve, and is COSC-certified for chronometer accuracy. Water resistance is rated to 300 metres, supported by a Triplock screw-down crown and solid Oyster case construction.

This example dates from 2001 and is presented in very good condition, showing visible but honest signs of wear consistent with over two decades of careful ownership. It is fitted to the original two-tone Oyster bracelet with Oysterlock clasp and diver’s extension. The watch is supplied with its original box and papers as a full set.
