Vintage Rolex Air-king
The Rolex Air-King was released in the midst of World War II and was seen as “A homage to Aviation”.
Launched in 1945, it’s 34mm case was considered large at the time, hence the “King” name. The Air-King look is well known for its austere aesthetics and long legacy, rightfully it has become a highly prized collector’s piece.
The Air-King joined the ranks of the Air-Lion, Air-Giant, and Air-Tiger, all created to pay tribute to the British Royal Air Force and its pilots. The King has stood the test of time and is the only watch still in production from the original “Air Series”.
As one of Rolex’s longest-running models, the Air-King is a watch worthy of your attention, it sustains the aeronautical heritage of the original Rolex Oyster and honours its role in the story of aviation.
