Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix Day-Date
We are pleased to present the Fiftysix Day-Date. Ref 4400E/000A-B437.
The Fiftysix collection was released in 2018. The collection features a vintage style case and modern elegant dials. The case draws design cues from the 6073, a gorgeous time piece released in 1956 - hence the name, Fiftysix.
The steel crafted case measure in at 40mm and has a thickness of 11.6mm. This is an amazing size, you begin to understand the elegance of the proportions when you see this time piece on your wrist. How the light plays with the immaculate polished surfaces of the case and the way the light cuts across the grey monochrome dial is simply breath taking. Another hint to the 6073, the lug shape is said to represent the four arms of the Maltese cross, Vacheron's logo.
The cool grey dial has a certain retro feel to it. The two horizontally alined textured sub-dials display the day of the week and the date. The power reserve is slightly off-centered, just above the 6 o'clock. This small brake in symmetry is what makes this watch so aesthetically pleasing.
Underneath the dial sits the caliber 2475 SC/2. This movement has been developed and manufactured in house but most important of all, it bears the coveted Hallmark of Geneva seal. Through the exhibition case back is were you will find the hand crafted 22ct occulting weight, finished with the famous Maltese cross. The caliber 2475 SC/2 runs at a frequency of 4 and has 40 hours of power reserve.
